    Cod Down Chippy: Serving the local Waynes and Waynettes of Odd-Down. There’s no mistaking the shop, just follow the smell of weed and look for people with man-bags and awful tattoos loitering outside. The shop itself won’t win awards for design and neither will it’s food. It’s changed ‘hands’ quite a lot over the recent years and I think it’s got a lot worse in quality. x ‘large’ cod and x large chips will set you back £. The cod wasn’t great quality and on the small/skinny side for £. a piece. Definitely not worth the money. It was chewy on the ends and the meat flakes were disappointing. The batter was average but it wasn’t too greasy. I’d give it a /. If you order large chips, expect kg of them. They won’t be crispy but anemic looking and slightly soggy. I would give them / - The portion size is impressive. The small fish is masked by the enormous chip portions. The battered sausage was lacking considerable batter. The staff are friendly and polite but don’t expect to use your card, this is a ‘cash only’ shop. Wink wink nudge nudge.Would I recommend Cod Down Chippy? It’s cooked upon order and it’s the closest one in the area. It’s definitely worth driving somewhere else if you can be bothered.

    Great food the portions are massive so would recommend regular portion of chips is a good amount for people.Cash onlyCash point available at co op just down the road almost next door.Parking: Roadside parking and on a residential street so will find difficult around the pm time laiter on gets quieter so easier to find a space

    Ordered four cod and one chips.Fish was fresh, crispy and a great portion.Chips far too many for four adults.Curry sauce very good too.Will definitely visit again.
